Meg or Maggie.:)

* I'm confused about Daisy *How is it a nickname for Margaret?:)

Anneza is right, it's from the French term for a daisy, "marguerite".

A marguerite is a large and important-looking daisy! And the origin is Greek: pearl, pearly-white ... I think most people just use Daisy as a flower name, though I know a Desiree who is sometimes known as Daisy. But, in Little Women, Meg is known as Daisy to some of her silly, snobbish friends.

Peggy (It was my great-grandmother's name)

I adore Maggie, and I also really like Meg. Midge and Daisy are cute, too.

I always forget that those can even be nicknames for Margaret. Meg because Megan is very popular with girls my age so that is what I think of Meg being short for. Idk why I never think Margo. I think Margo is one of the few nicknames that can stand alone. My favorites are Maggie or Margie. Someone mentioned Greta, I like that too but again always forget it.

My favorite is May. I also like Mae, Meg, Margo, Maisie, and Maggie. I used to dislike Maggie, but I've come around to liking it recently.

Meg, closely followed by May/Mae.I seem to be in the minority, but I really dislike Maggie.

Meg/Megan, Greta or May (I really cannot choose a favourite out of them though). And I think Daisy or Pearl would be cute although kind of a stretch.

Maggie clearlyI also like May, Maisie, and Daisy.

Maggie! I like Margot as a name on it's own.

Maisie.

It's a toss up between Margot and Peg. Margot when I'm feeling worldly and artistic. Peg when I'm in the need of no frills. Is it cheating to want to use a variant as a nn? Because I'm head over heels for Mairead. Yeah, I know. That's cheating.

Maggie, or Margo.Oh, and can I just say I don't understans why so many people on BtN seem to dislike Maggie? I think it's adorable.

Gretch/Gretchen is the one I plan to use currently (since we plan to use Margaret). But I could see myself using Meg, Margo, or Mamie.
vote up1
Mamie! Too cute.

Maggie, Maisie, Daisy, Greta, and Peggy-Sue are my favorites (in no particular order), but I prefer Margaret in it's entirety...

I really like Mae, Mar, Madge, Megsie, and Peggy, which is my favorite. I would have included Margot, but I prefer it as a given name.

Madgeno one else seems to like Madge, but I think it's neat.
But. Margaret is only two syllables and I think I like it better nicknameless.

I much prefer Margot as a name in it's own right, it's in my top ten. However, it's great as a nn too. I'm basically in agreement with you, Meg and Margot are my fav nn's for Margaret :)
