I think it's a beautiful name. It sounds very soft and gentle, but kind of haunting. Winter is my favorite season. I think it could be interpreted as cheesy, but unless you only use it for that reason and not cause you really like the name then I would say it doesn't matter how others might interpret it. Idk if this name is in the running for your little one, but Natalie and Winter would be a really sweet sister set.

I think it has this interesting cold quality, and the beauty of the season comes to mind. :) Winter is the one season name I particularly like.
And no, I think it would be fine. People would ask why if a girl named Winter was born in the summer, actually.

I don't particularly like Winter, but I wouldn't find it repulsive on a child either. I think definitely girl. And I don't the season of birth matters too much - it's only cheesy if her middle name makes it cheesy. So please no:
Winter Storm
Winter Snowflake
Winter Sleighride
or other ridiculous ones that make a phrase. :o)

I don't really like it. I find it a bit too "hippy", and I also think that it doesn't have a very nice sound to it, as it sounds quite harsh for a girl.

I don't think it would be "cheesy" to use it for someone whose birthday is in Winter, but it would make equal sense to use it for someone who wasn't born in Winter. Summer is a popular name, which is used for babies all year round.

I like Winter, but more as a guilty pleasure. I don't think I would ever actually use it but have no problem with others using it.

I don't think it would be cheesy as it is likely not to be immediately picked up that she is a winter baby, unlike if you call a baby born in June, June.

I like it. Of all the season names it's the only one I like. I don't think it's cheesy on a baby born in winter. My son goes to school with a little girl called Winter. At first I was a little surprised by it, because I'd never heard it before. But I've come to really like it.

I like Summer and Autumn and I like Winter too! People name their kids things for association of birth, I knew a girl naned Janine (ja-NINE) because she was born on January ninth, and while that's a bit cheesy naming a little girl winter in winter isn't too bad

I like Summer and Autumn, but not Winter. Winter sounds cheesy to me.

I love Winter! Winnie and Win are so cute and full of spunk. It's also neat as a boy's mn, but as a fn, I only like it for a girl.

I like it! It might be cheesy for a kid born in winter... but then again it might be misplaced for a kid born in summer. I think it works either way.

I love it, and no, I don't think it would be cheesy for a winter baby to be named Winter. Most of the Noelles I've met have been born around Christmas, which I don't think is cheesy, so why not Winter for a child born in winter?

I like it best for a girl and I wouldn't use Winter on a baby born in any other season unless it was honoring in one way or another.

I'm not too fond of Winter, at least as a first name; as a middle name, perhaps, it could work for me. I don't think it's particularly cheesy to use on a baby born in winter, though.

I actually prefer Winter on a girl. It might be a little cheesy, but not overly so.
