Isaiah and Israel: twins
A friend of a friend named their twin boys Isaiah and Israel. I wish I knew their middle names.I think the style is similar enough, but do you think the names are confusingly similar in sound? It would probably help if the boys are fraternal twins.

I think they are too similar. I don't think twins need to have similar names simply because they are twins. They should be considered individuals and named just like you would name any other siblings. We have had 3 sets of twins at our school with very confusing names. To top it off, they were all identical sets of twins. Here are the names:
Alyssa and Melissa
DeAnte and DeAndre
Mario and Omarion

Interesting set. Personally I would never name twins with the same initial (never mind the same two starting letter and never mind theme-y) because I think they will have enough trouble getting mixed up in their lives. Regardless of whether they are identical or not. Heck, my sister and I got mixed up and we are two years apart with totally different names. I think similar names only compounds that. For example my twin cousins named Loreena and Lareesa.

Aww, that's a lovely brother set. I don't think Isaiah and Israel are too close in sound, just similar enough for twins but not confusingly so.

I actually like them. they're similar visually, but soundwise they're very different. If they were identical I think it would be too much but not if they're fraternal.

They sound too close IMO.

I love the name Israel but have yet to see the attraction of Isaiah. Still, decent choices.

Isaiah & Israel are nice together! I probably would have went Ishmerai and Israel because they are both less common, but this is a good twin set as matchining initials go.
