Tatler
Yes, a little girl called Tatler. Her sister is called Loren. It was an article in a British paper about conspicuous consumption among tweens and younger teenagers.
I think it is hideous and has no redeeming features at all...

For what it's worth ...
Tatler is the name of a pretty but vapid 'society" magazine based in London which focuses on the lives and clothing of the rich and well-connected. I fear the parents might have hoped the aura of perceived glamour and money would be magically transmitted to their unfortunate child. Who will presumably be nicknamed Tatty. Oh dear.

Oh
No
That's bad.

That's a horrible name. It has the negative association of 'tattler', and also, it just doesn't sound very nice either.
Yowsa!
How ironic that an article about conspicuous consumption features a girl named Tatler! Tacky and an unattractive sound too. I quite like Loren spelled like that though.
Huh
I assume it's a surname name... and kinda fun, but in a non-realistic way. Like it makes me think of a street urchin in a fantasy novel. A young pickpocket or something. Who is a boy.
I wonder what they call her for short?

I wouldn't want to be named after a beauty/fashion type magazine.
Although maybe it was a family surname like New Chloe suggested, and just a coincidence. But even so, is that magazine quite well known there?

Well, if you were named Elle or Marie Claire, it'd be hard to tell :)
I thought of that!
Which is why I wondered how prevalent the magazine was. Like I've never seen those magazines before, even though I do know they exist. So I don't think they're common enough that anyone named Elle or Marie Claire would be instantly linked to them.

It would be among the people I think the article was about - or they aspire to be - if that makes sense. It is supposed to be about the lives and lifestyles of the upper class and monied.
So tacky!
