If I were you I'd look at the popular names in the area where he'll grow up. If you see Hayden/Caden/Jaden, Tristan, and Rowan are doing well, it'll fit right in (all those are unisex usages sometimes these days). Besides, he can go by Shan as a kid (I think it sounds more specifically "boy" anyway) until he becomes a man and determines the gender of his name himself by wearing it securely.
