Re: Amanda
in reply to a message by Lily
I'm pretty sure that most of the Amandas I've met have gone by their full names, so I don't think that an Amanda is necessarily fated to being called Mandy.Off of the top of my head, I can think of two people I've actually known named Amanda. I'm sure I've met more than that, though. I know I've run into plenty of Amandas at store checkouts, restaurants, etc.As far as combos go, I'd avoid something like Amanda Lynn or Amanda Nicole, which scream 80's to me. Amanda Lynn also sounds like "a mandolin", which is another reason to avoid that one. Amanda doesn't seem quite ready for revival just yet, but it's still more refreshing than, say, Ashley, which has been way too popular for years. I dislike the "man" part of Amanda, but the name is decent, and it has a nice meaning. I still prefer Miranda, though.Combos:
Amanda Jane
Amanda Colette
Amanda Helen
Amanda Lorelei
Amanda Laurel
Amanda Lisette
Amanda Vivian / Vivien / Vivienne
Amanda Rachel
Amanda Pearl
Amanda Giselle
Amanda Gwen
Amanda Gwenaelle
Amanda Pauline
Amanda Colleen
Amanda Willow
Amanda Winter
Amanda Sophie
Amanda Celeste
Amanda Seraphine
Amanda Fay / Faye
Amanda Naomi
Amanda Simone
Amanda Claire
Amanda Kate
Amanda Joy
Amanda June
Amanda Judith
Amanda Fern
Amanda Lily
Amanda Gail
Amanda Caroline
Amanda Ruby
Amanda Renee - It has a bit of a dated feel, but I still like it. I find Renee more appealing than Nicole and Lynn even though Renee used to be a fillerish middle name.
Amanda Leslie
Amanda Sylvie
