Re: Zaphod

I thought Zaphod Beeblebrox was a sort of satire of scifi characters like Jerry Cornelius and Louis Wu ... miss-the-mark "Mary Sues" that make you wonder, how on earth does this apparently dorky, heavily-modified-to-be-fabulous guy get all these adventures and get laid so much. So ... no, I wouldn't inflict the image on a son.
But I did have a thing for Zaphod (at least until I saw the TV version), and for his name, too. It's very snappy. It's the kind of thing I might rename myself, as sort of a self-deprecating in-joke for nerds, if I were a very quirky man approaching middle age.

re: first paragraph: I love that about him SO MUCH
OP: If "usable" means, like, not ridiculous, then no, it's not usable. But if you mean, Can it be used? then yeah, it's fine, and tons of fun. I'm sort of feeling myself falling into a space-phase with names, actually. How about Zaphod as a middle name. Otto Zaphod. heh heh
