Royce
I'm not sure if I like this name or not. Anybody care to sway me one way or the other?

Well, you've all swayed me.
The problem is that because I got so many negative responses (negative as in not positive, not negative as in horrific against it or rude), I now fell defensive about it. None of you realize the sheer awesomeness of Royce! ;) Royce is daring and roguish with a cool spelling. No, Royce wouldn't make a good grade-schooler, but he would make a good twenty-something adventurer who would sweep you off your feet. Royce has no need for a car. He has a horse.
I just described the love interest in a cheesy romance novel, didn't I?
. . .
Royce is the best love interest in a cheesy romance novel ever!
Thanks everyone.

I don't even know which way this would sway you, but I have a Royce story. In the grade 3 classroom where I was doing my last teaching practicum before graduation there was a Royce. The kind of kid that you peg the moment he walks in the class as one to keep your eye on. :o) He was very slight, very fair, and very comical. My best memory is of him rolling around on the floor one morning and telling everyone that his name was now "Rolls Royce". Lol!
Not a fan.
For what it's worth, I far prefer Roy to Royce and Joy to Joyce, but I can't find a reason either.
What are your feelings about Joyce/Joy?

I feel the same way. I do have the combo Royce Abraham that I like a lot. I think it goes well in some combos, and when I look at it and say it in my head it's nice, but if I say it outloud it sounds obnoxious somehow. Which is what sways me back to the not liking it side. Hmm, I guess I haven't done a good job at swaying you, but I do sympathize with your plight. :)
It's a little dated, but not in a horrible or overly grandpa-ish way. I think the sound is way too 'chipper' for my liking personally, but there's nothing really wrong with it.
I don't like it. It sounds like the name of a car.
