It really is a rakish rapscallion of a name. I was a bit turned off that Desperate Housewives used it, but I guess it hardly detracts from the bright plastic kitchsy charm it has for me.
I actually think its "dog" label is fading fast, since I'd say people just don't use it for dogs any more; it's gone out of fashion. Most people tell me my name is a "dog name" more often than Rex is "only for dogs"!
I really like the combo Rex Morgan. Not sure who came up with it first, but it has a nice Victorian-dandy vibe happening that I enjoy. It gives it a bit of polish I think.
