I like the "less-common-nickname" thing, but I'm not sure that I'm such a fan of a nickname that seems like a name in itself.
I'm all in support of
Declan nn Dex. I would be all over this one is I could get my husband to agree.
Modecai nn Cai.
Sullivan nn Van. Though personally I love Sullivan nn Sully.
Severina nn Vera. In support of the fn/nn combination, but not the fn itself.
Xanthe nn Thea.
On the fence with
Mordecai nn Caius. But I could be won over. Maybe I just don't like Caius.
Calliope nn Calla. Just because I kinda like Calla in it's own right. And I htink Calli is a better nn.
Big no for
Delphine nn Adele. Both are so great and worth their own names. Poor Adele doesn't want to be "just" the nickname.
