I don't like it at all. It seems very dated to me, and for some reason it also seems very country and western-ish.

I don't enjoy geographical names or lnfns, so it's out on two counts.

I love Troy! I don't care about High School Musical. Zac Efron isn't really a bad association - he's pretty nice to look at even if he is ten years younger than me...
My main association with Troy (besides ancient Greece, of course, which is a big plus) is this hotness:

When I played the game I didn't want him to die at the end, so I put off advancing the plot for a loooooong time. Heh.

I love the name Troy but I am very bias, my name is Tracy and my brother is Troy. I really do like they name its functional as a child and an adult. It is not too trendy but at the same time its not too out there.

I hate it. It sounds like a dumb jock name, and it's been ruined for me by High School Musical.

I love anthing associated with ancient history. So the city of Troy should be a positive association for me. Unfortunately, I've never been able to get 1950's teen idol Troy Donohue out of my head. I associate the name Troy therefore with plastic, superficial, trendy pop culture without the interesting post-60's bits. I put Troy in the same category of names as Biff and Rock. I wish I didn't.

I've met a few great guys named Troy, and I just can't get it. I have no idea why, it just is a horrible name to me, although I honestly have no clue why. I would never use it.

I associate the name with dogs, mainly because when I was little, I always said if I had a German Shepherd, I'd name him Troy. Weird, but true.
