Mischa?
I saw a post from a couple days ago about Misha vs. Mischa for a boy.I really like this name, for a girl, although I don't know if I'd use it.What are your thoughts on Mischa in general, and for a girl? Thanks :)

I'll admitI think of it as a girl name first because I first came across it as the name for Hannibal Lector's sister. Then Mischa Barton got big. So I do think of it as being pretty girly. I don't mind it. I like Masha better.

I don't like it for either sex due to Mischa Barton.

I think it works fine on a girl, mainly because of Mischa Barton.

I spent too many years and too much money studying Russian to ever think of Misha as anything but a boy's name. If it worked the other way around; if feminine names were used for boys, then I might not be so adamant about it. But it's a one way street. Once it gets used for girls a name is usually lost for parents of little boys to use. It's not fair. For a boy, I love Misha / Mischa, as a nn for Mikhail or even Michael. I prefer the Misha spelling.

I think girl just because Mischa Barton is the only one I have heard of with the name.
I think it is an ok name. It isn't really my style but I don't dislike it. It has a Russian feel to me.

Boy, definitely.Misha is my current favorite name for a boy (well, Mikhail or Michael, NN Misha). I'm in a Russian names phase, so I like all the typical Russian diminutives like Misha and Sasha for boys.Very rarely will I like it on a girl, if I find the right combination and the right character.

It's completely unisex to me but I prefer it for a boy only because I think the sound fits a boy better.
It's okey for a girl. I think it's kind of hollow if that makes sense. I want something with more substance. I prefer it spelt Misha but that's just me. Overall, not bad but it's not for me.

I don't mind it, but only for a girl and only as a nickname.
