I like it, but unfortunately, I immediately think of Wilma from the Flintstones. I picture Fred pounding on the door yelling "WILMA!" I prefer Wilhelmina.

I think Wilma is adorable. Down-home earthy goodness. It's not at the top of my list, but it's been climbing for some time now. I'm not sure if it has retro comeback appeal, but I would put it in the same class as with names like Jean, Della, Mavis, Mary, Mae, Norma, Betty, Susan, Patsy, Stella, Beverly, etc. Cute names that feel attached to a certain era.

I don't care for Wilma. I like Willa better. I agree with your imagery though of homebaked oatmeal goodness and I guess that is why I don't like it that much. Oatmeal or anything with oats is heavy & I like light names, more lemon meringe or sorbet :)
It seems that the lighter names are coming back (Sophie, Annabelle) so I don't see it getting popular. It has a similar feel to Matilda so I like that as a sibset. I'm not sure about a middle name; I can't think of anything I like.

Wilma's got frumpy-chic written all over it. It's a hop, skip and a jump away from vampy Velma and friendly Thelma. I like it, but it will not be coming back anytime soon. Willa, on the other hand, is poised for a comeback with the general public.

I've never been a fan of Wilma. I think the Flintstones association is just too much for me. I love Willa, Wilhelmina, and Selma but I just cannot find the beauty in Wilma, sorry :(

I have always hated Wilma. It sounds weak and childish to me. And it is very popular here, and the kind of parents who choose Wilma for their daughters are also choosing some of the other names I just can't stand. It has been in the top 10 since at least 1998, except from 2005 when it was ranked #12.
