Will is my son's name, though in his case, it's a nickname for William, his full name.
Hmmm, how do I explain this? I actually like Will more than William. That's why my son is called Will and not William. Will is still as strong and masculine as William, but it's also warmer and friendlier. But I would never use Will on its own, just because it just seems too short and too incomplete to be used on its own. And, well, nicknames as full names are just a pet peeve of mine---nicknames came about as short forms of full names, they're not full names on their own, and I think that everyone deserves a full name.
But, anyway, since you ask about just Will and not William, I like Will very much and since I do, I'd be more likely to approve of it as a full name than some other nicknames.
I prefer Will Tyler, because Reagan just makes me think of Ronald Reagan and I'm not his biggest fan.
