Chevrolet
I met a girl named Chevrolet who goes by the nickname Chevy. I think it's kind of pretty but I'm not a fan, mostly because I wouldn't want to have the name of a car manufacturer. Anyway I thought I'd throw it out there. Thoughts?

I find using a car brand as a person name ridiculous.
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry?!?!

Chevrolet, as a word, is very pretty, imo. I don't think I would use Chevy as a nickname - my first thought for a nickname was actually Layla, more as a "normal" fallback than a nickname.
But, there's not much difference from Chevrolet to Mercedes (as already mentioned). Or Bentley, Royce, Aston, Porsche, etc. I knew a guy named Ram, after the Dodge. So ... Different strokes.
Having said that, I hope this isn't a conception name like Brooklyn or Paris ... What's next? Kitchen Table? ;)

It's too associated with the car manufacturer for me to like it as a name, but Chevrolet as a word is kind of pretty.
It's not the worst brand name to use, I suppose, but I just find it kind of ridiculous...Also, Chevy reminds me of Chevy Chase.
Chevrolet sounds ridiculous. I don't like it.
I would not want to be run over by that name!
Not sure what bother me more; the fact that she was named after a car or that I can stop picturing Chevy Chase right now. Either way, not a fan.
She says she likes her name.
Isn't this what Ramona Quimby named one of her dolls?(
I remember she named her doll that. Cute, huh?
It's kind of adorable if a little girl names her doll Chevrolet, but as an actual name for a person, I don't like it at all.

Oh nostalgia!
I remember that book. I want to say Ramona the Pest, more specifically. (I used to have most of the books, but it's been a long time)

Yep, I'm pretty sure it was Ramona the Pest too.
Yes!
Exactly what I thought, too! Such cute books.
She has a worn doll with green hair called Chevrolet in the early books. In Ramona and Her Mother, Ramona admits that she always thought Chevrolet was the most beautiful name in the world and doesn't understand why the adults are laughing.

I can't say I like it, in fact I find it rather tacky.
It sounds like something someone would name a twin for Mercedes if they thought they were being clever. I'm not really a fan, but I suppose someone somewhere can pull it off. I don't think it's *quite* as unusable as Kleenex or Bandaid :P, but it's definitely not a name I'd want to see.

I think it's a bit tacky - like naming your child Kleenex or Bandaid. Not my style at all.
