Vitaline
I remember seeing this name in a book years ago. It's French, and I think it's related to Vitalia. It's a pretty rare name. I think it's very lovely. What do you think of Vitaline?

Vitaline / Vitalina was apparently a 4th-century French saint. I think it's okay, although I like Vitalia better. Sadly, anything starting with vita is doomed in English to wind up being the name of a pharmaceutical of some kind. The first hit I got for it was some kind of horse pill.

My first thought was that it sounds like a patent medicine. And my second thought was that there used to be a male hair lotion called Vitalis. So my final thought is: definitely not human.

I want to like it, but it sounds like the name of a product that has to do with vitamins.

It reminds me of the "I Love Lucy" episode where she gets drunk drinking the vitameatavegemine (sp?) for a commercial. Very funny. That, and Vaseline. It just looks like a product to me, not a name for a person, sorry. On the other hand, with "Mildred Pierce" about to show on HBO, Vida / Vita names might be on the rise. You could be ahead of a curve. :-)

Vitaline is my confirmation name. I'm sorry to say I don't know a single thing about the saint, though, apart from she is alternatively called Vitalina. I definitely chose it just because I liked the name. :-/ I like it still. I love Vit and Vitus but not as much Vita, as I'm not a huge fan of female consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel names. The -line makes a little longer and more complex, which I prefer. I always love a good -ine name besides.

Vitaline reminds me of a yoghurt called Vitalinea. It's supposed to help digestion and lessen swelling. And the commercials are awful....So no, not a good association. I like Vitalia, though.

I agree somewhat with other people but I still like it. I love the nickname Vita.

Sibling to Vaseline? Too could-be-found-in-a-drugstore-ish. Sorry.Vitalia on the other hand is quite nice.

Sounds like something greasy that men would put in their hair circa 1955.
