Love it. And if you love it, you've got to investigate the opera, it's a cultural requirement.
I like it better with the dieresis. Aïda. Wow pretty.

I really like it pronounced ah-EE-dah but I hate it pronounced AY-də.
To get AY-də I'd use Ada which I kinda like btw. I just think they are two completely different names and I'm such a name snob about this, sorry.

It makes me think of the opera. I'd pronounce it ah-EE-da. I think it's an okay name. It has a pretty look and sound.
I'd say ie-EE-da.
I think of the opera, and no doubt I'll be tormenting my colleagues all day by whistling the Grand March! Celeste Aida ... some wonderful music in there. And then there was a journalist called Aida Parker who used to write a vicious right-wing newsletter years ago. Not good! And I also think of aida cloth, which some people like to use for cross-stitch, though I find it unappealing and stay with canvas or linen.
I wouldn't expect to see it often, as a given name, and I don't like it much. Too close to Ida, perhaps?

I would have pronounced it as Ada ( AY-da). I looked it up and see it is pronounced ah-EE-da, which is lovely sounding. But I feel it would never be given the correct pronunciation in English speaking countries. Also, I'm not fond of how it looks. I don't like the Aid part.
