Re: Sadie and Olive

I don't like Sadie. Based on some association I've long forgotten, my image of Sadie is a hardened, shrewd, witty, and streetwise person. As opposed to a refined, educated, gentle, or light-hearted person. Maybe it's the similarity of sound to "sadism"? I'm not sure. Anyway, I think it sounds tough, and the opposite of innocent. Which isn't awful in itself, but I balk at the idea of naming a baby it.
Olive is nice. I met a toddler named Olive a few years ago. It seems a little hipsterish, but not in a bad way. I like Olive because of the peace symbolism, and the antique-ness of it makes it seem sweet, but not too sweet because of its modesty especially in contrast to Olivia.
