I don't like Finn on its own, but it's okay as a nn for Finbarr, which is one of my favorites. I'm worried that all of the Fin- names are beginning to get trendy, though.

I love this name and it's on my personal name list. It was also one of the names we considered to use for our first child.
In Germany we also use the feminine variant of Finn which is Finja (pronounced Finnyuh). It's one of my favourites too.

As for the mn it's definitely better to use a name with more syllables. But at the moment I have no idea which combo flows well (one of the reasons we decided against this name). When I have any ideas I'll post them later.

I like Finn a lot-it sounds cool!

I prefer Finn as a nn to Finnigan (which is a real name, I just don't like to spell it Finnegan). Finn is a hard name to give a mn to. Nothing really seems to flow very well.
