Re: Pronounciation is key!

I pronunce Elena "ay-LAY-nah" only. If you like the "ah-LAY-nah" sound, why not use Alaina or Alayna? As much as I detest both, they'd make more sense to me. Helena is heh-LAY-nah to me, and after that, heh-LEE-nah. My least favourite pronunciation is Helen-uh.
I always say Lena as LEE-nah, because I'm Norwegian-American! ;) Ole and LAY-nah just wouldn't be the same. I don't like the LAY-nah pronunciation as well. Lena Violet would be a fine combo either way.
Hermione is a name I don't have good associations with, since despite the fact that I'm a Harry Potter fan, I'm a David Bowie fan first. The song "Letter to Hermione" is gorgeous, but it's sad and not exactly complimentary.
I like Keziah, but only pronunced keh-ZYE-ah. "KEE-zee-ah" sounds silly to me; I could see "KEH-zee-uh," but that sounds a bit uninformed, IMO. I like it, especially with the nickname Kizzie / Kizzy.

"Phineas. That's an interesting name."
"Yeah. It's Latin for 'kick me'."
