How interesting. I've loved Ilya for years. I didn't know how close the Russian name was to the Arabic form. Thanks!I prenoune Ilya as "EEL-ee-yuh" if I'm talking slowly, but closer to "EEL-yuh" at full speed. So Ilyas would be (for me), "EEL-yahs." Names with more vowels sounds than consonants are so cool.
