I think of the movie "Prince of Persia: The sands of time" where the main charactare is named Dastan. I have liked the name ever since. It's not exactly the same name, but I like Dunstan too and I think it works just fine.

I don't see why you couldn't use it, though I don't love the sound of it myself (the 'dunce' part of it).

My grandmothers maiden name was Dunstan. I think it's fine for a boy.

I want to like it, but I don't think I would use it as a first name.

Sounds fine to me. I'm not sure why not. I find it a cool name.

Was the book Silas Marner, because that's the only Dunstan that ever sticks in my mind and it makes me think of the character which isn't really a great association.
