As far as I know, "word" names (this might qualify as a virtue name) aren't really common in Francophone countries. Espérance sounds nice, but I'd say it's not a very good idea outside of a French-speaking country (it would get butchered into ess-per-ANCE with the last syllable rhyming with dance), where it wouldn't be used...The French use Nadia and Nadine, which come from Nadezhda, a Russian name meaning "hope", though. I also like Esperanza, personally, especially when you at the very least try to use a Spanish pronunciation.
