There is a female student at the high school where I work named Remington. Opinions? Thoughts? :)

Like the name for a boy, but not at all for a girl.

Remington Fuzz-Away80s gadget that my mother used to use on bobbly cardigans. That's all I can think of! - so not really loving it as a girl's name.

I hate it. It should stay a surname.

No! Not for a girl! But I do like Remington for a boy. I think it's one of my favorite GPs actually. I love Remington nn Rémy.

Bleah, isn't that a kind of gun? It's horrible for both genders, but possibly more so for girls.

Remington is awful for either gender.

I HATE any name that ends in -ington, especially for girls. Remington sounds pretentious and like the name of some snooty popular girl.

It's bad enough on a boy

Shoot me! That as redneck or maybe creepy as names get.

She was anything but a redneck. In fact, this girl looked pretty well-off, and slightly preppy to me.

Snobs, name their children the most ridiculous names like Yeardley(girl).

I actually kind of like Yeardley, if only because of Yeardley Smith.

No no no!There's nothing remotely feminine about this name -- I think it's quite hideous.Romola is worlds better!

Nooooo! Run away!Remington is already bad enough on a boy, but on a girl? Somehow that makes it scads snobbier to me, I don't know why.

Sorry, but Romola has always reminded me of "areola". That doesn't make Remington any better, mind you, but I just can't get behind Romola. No offense. :)
