I used to hate Patricia because I thought of Tricia Nixon as the epitome of uptight, perfect perfectitude. (I always felt guilty about this because I knew nothing of her other than what her father represented. I did like her wedding dress. But I could never get the "Tricia = uptight" thing out of my head.)

I do like Patricia but I think it's not ready for a comeback -- it's quite dated and the nns Pat, Patty and Patsy should never be revived, imo. I do like Tricia and Trish, though. I've seen Patia before which I think is interesting and quirky although I'm not sure how to pronounce it (PAH-sha, pah-TEE-a).

I dislike this name. Maybe due to personal association.... but I also dislike that Patricia is always likely to become Pat or Tricia... neither of which I like either.

I love Patricia! Patricia Dorothy is the prettiest of the combos.

I have a student (late teen/early 20) called Patricia, she goes by Tricia. I like it and it's actually refreshing to hear.

One of my sisters is named Patricia. I like the full form very much, it's so soft and pretty. Of course, it is dated, and I'm sure you're aware of that, and when it was popular, it was very very popular. I think it's the second or third most common name in the US for women of all ages. My sister is always called Patty, but I don't like that nickname. Tricia is a nicer nickname, in my opinion, and perhaps you could get away with the full form---but I've never known a Patricia who goes by the full form. It would be---dare I say it---refreshing to see a newborn or a child Patricia these days. But I think it has to wait longer for a comeback.
