Beulah

Wow. That's quite a list. There are some fantabulous names and some disappointments, for me.
The one name that jumped right out at me is Beulah. There's actually a baby Beulah living on the Earth right now. Wow! I have to give her parents credit. That takes guts. I love Eula as a name and I'm working up to liking / loving Beulah. I'm almost there. Her parents beat me to it. :-D

Not corny at all. And I'd say the chances of finding a baby Gertrude are 100 times better than a baby Beulah*. I met a fifteen year old Gertie once. And the little girl character in the movie "Jersey Girl" is named Gertie. So finding your white whale might not be so difficult after all. :-)
* The more I say "baby Beulah" out loud the more I'm falling in love with the name.

I love Beulah. Bonus for me because it's the name of the lady who raised my grandmother (not her mother, but she was under the impression that she was her mother until she was about 50). My grandma used to tell me stories about how she'd sneak out through the bathroom window, which was just over the tub, to meet my grandfather. Beulah never said anything to her, but when she'd sneak back Beulah would have filled the tub with ice cold water. Apparently she had curly black hair and drank gin. I think anyways. It's been forever since I've heard anything about her. I always loved hearing stories about her.
