I personally find Kitty silly and Catalina is too frilly for my tastes but it could definitely be worse

I LOVE Mae and Catalina is alright too. Not a fan of the nn Kitty though and especially not for Catalina. I'd much prefer Cat or Lina as a nn for it.

I love Catalina! It sounds so regal and strong. It is way too beautiful to use Kitty as a nn. I totally agree with you about Kitty. I think airhead stripper or dumb blonde from a 50's movie.

I like Catalina!

Kitty is fine as a nickname. It's cute when she's young, of course. If she wants to use it as an adult, it's just a nickname anyway, and some women can pull off "cutesy" nicknames without coming across as ditzy or immature.
