Elise?
What do you think of the name Elise? I've become smitten with it lately. I find it soft, elegant and feminine, but also strong and not fluffy/frou-frou at all. It's not common but it's still very familiar. Do you think it works well with my other favorites: Petra, Cecily, Ione, Isobel, Rosaline, Esmee, and Antonia? Thanks in advance!

I really like Elise. It's one of my favorite female names. I agree with you that it's very feminine without being frilly. I think Elise goes well with Cecily and Rosaline.

I love Elise IF it is pronounced with 3 syllables, I cannot stand the 2 syllable pronunciation of this name. I'm sorry to be such a name snob about this. It's why I would not use Elise in an English-speaking country... to my ears it would be mispronounced all the time. I think Elise Antonia would make a wonderful combo.

I agree with everything you've said about Elise. Good name. I also love Esmee and Elise as a cute sibset.
The couple down the street from me have two littler girls Ella (2) and Elise (5 months).

I think it works wonderfully with your other favorites, especially Cecily, Isobel and Rosaline. I do like Elise as a name, though it's my cousin's name and she's a bit of a ditz. I like the fact that you could use Lisa as a nickname (not like it needs a nickname, but still).

I love the name spelled Elyse. and I would not use it with Cicily - only because of the E ending on Cecily and the beginning E sound on Elyse - and re Isobel - I find using Elyse as the middle name with Isobel would be L heavy on the tongue .
