I think you could get away with it. It's definitely something I'd consider. If you can name girls Paris why can't you name them Hero when that's actually a girls' name? People will probably think it's weird, but non-namenerds seem to think everything is weird that doesn't appear in the top 100.

I love girls' names that end with 'o' too. I generally dislike boys' name that end in 'o'.
