It's not a bad name in the least, there are just a lot of French names I love a million times more. Beyond that it bothers me that in the US it is usually MIH-shell and not MEE-shell, but it still sounds nice so it's not all bad. I also find it quite dated, I have not met a Michelle under the age of 20 (although according to the SSA it only slipped out of the top 100 two years ago, never would have guessed). I guess in the end despite all of it's potential drawbacks it is still a beautiful name that deserves to be used.
