It always makes me think of Germans, since there's a German exchange student named Julia.

I would've named my daughter Julia, probably, if I hadn't had a good friend who had a daughter Julia only six months older. It's the most perfect feminine name in the English language, all things considered. IMHO.

I love Julia! It has such an understated elegance. It reminds me of "Brideshead Revisited". Well done on choosing such a beautiful name. I think it would go well with a flowery, sophisticated middle name:

I think it is a pretty common name. But that is because it is pretty, strong yet feminine and sophisticated.
Julia works with a simple middle name like Rose, Joyce, Elise and with longer more sophisticated names like Evangeline, Patrice, Felicity, Guinevere.

I like Julia and I think it's become a classic. You can't go wrong with it. It is slightly too common for my tastes, and at the moment I prefer Juliet, but it's a solid choice that will grow well with the child. I think it needs a middle name that's a little bit less common to balance it out.

I love Julia! It's so pretty, and you can't go wrong with The Beatles song. :)
