Chaille
I know a girl who has this name. I had a hard time researching it but apparently it's French origin, and the meaning refers to some variety of flint.
To me it comes across as kind of obscure because when I first met this girl I had no idea how to pronounce her name.

If it's French, then it would originally be pronounced like the English word "shy" (the double l's emphasizing the previous vowel sound). However, pronouncing it the English way would make it "shiel" or "shie-el," or perhaps "shayl" or "shay-el."
"Shy-el" was my first thought. It's a pretty sound but the spelling and pronunciation must be a nightmare
I'd have no idea how to pronounce that either. Does it rhyme with Braille?
