I've liked it a lot for a long time, and you inspired me to finally add it to my favorites. It was the name of my first doll, haha.
I do think it can be used. Retro chic, you know? I like Sandy, but I don't think it suits everyone so if I named a baby Sandra, I wouldn't set my heart on Sandy. I don't think it really needs or wants any other nicknames.
