Thoughts on Cecily
I've been thinking about Cecily a lot lately and am thinking that I like it better than a name on my "short-ish" list.
What are your thoughts on it?
Thanks!

Love it - ever since reading the Avonlea books. I think it's soft and romantic, but also timeless.
Its my favorite girls name I love it. If we have a daughter she will be named Cecily. I love that it is uncommon yet still feels familiar, and I love the literary connection to Oscar Wilde.
I like Cecily but I can't imagine it aging very well. I prefer Celia
It's lovely. I like Cecile the most though.
I just know I'm going to be in the minority here, but it grates on my nerves. I don't why, but it makes me think of a "little miss perfect" type of person. You know, a real-life Mary-Sue, someone who appears to have perfect everything... argh!
I think it sounds like "celery" - I don't really like it. I prefer Cecelia.
The meaning totally loses it for me.
I like Cecily. It is sweetly old fashioned. I think it has a similar feel/style to Sophie, Ava, Emma; only not as popular.
I also think Cece is an adorable nickname, not that it needs one.

I'm not a fan. For some reason it seems whiny to me.
I love it! This was the name of my abandoned NaNoWriMo main character. I think it's very pretty, without being too OTT feminine. It's definitely usable, IMO.
I really, really like Cecily.
Cecily screams 'cute' and rather solemn to me, and I like those qualities in a short name. I much favor Cecily over Cecilia, and most other variations; I just think Cecily has that "something", whereas Cecilia does not.
Beautiful name!

I love it. It's been on my list for a while.
It's fine, but I always think of the island Sicily when I see it. I imagine this could be a source for namecalling.
I'm not a fan. I can't stand the sound of it. It's too...hissy...for my taste.
If you like it you should use it.
But...it hurts my hears to but honest. I hate the through-the-teeth hissing sounds of Cecily, Cecil, Cecelia, ect. Just for the sake of being different I'd rather see Cecily than Madison or Ella, though.
