I don't like the sound of it. (It's pronounced DAHM-lah here) Two reasons:
a) It's a bit close to the German words 'dumm' (stupid) and 'damisch' (means goofy in a certain German dialect).
b) It has a really 'fat' feel to me and I don't even know why. There are so many Turkish feminine names that sound so much prettier and more elegant... Think Ekin which I really love.
