Viola or Violet (for a strange reason)
I'm trying to decide between Viola or Violet for a story character. I've picked these two names because of their similarity to the words "violent" and "violate". Which of these two names puts you in mind of those words? I'm leaning towards Viola right now.

Well, Violet makes me think of "violent" because it's one letter away, but that's just me.

Depends what it's paired with and whether you want it to fit or clash w/ her personality and the concept of violence and violation... If you're wanting it to be closer to that, I'd say Viola. If you're wanting irony, go with Violet.

Violet makes me think of violent, because they are only one letter different. As names, I prefer Viola.

Violet, because I usually say Viola as vee-OH-la.

I prefer Viola (especially as a story character for some reason) but I have to say, Violet reminds me more of the words violent and violate.

Violet, far and above, because of the T.

Violet - evil flowers ftw! and the sound's much closer.
Violante or Violaine might work too

As a name in general I prefer Viola (use to be my favorite in high school!), but Violet has always seemed too close to "violent" for my tastes.... so if that's the image you're going for I'd choose Violet

Violet. You can make a musical instrument emit ghastly sounds, but the thought of a tiny, fragrant, unobtrusive flower with a dark and dreadful secret is so unexpected, it's a winner.
