I can't imagine a Temperance who liked her name; in fact, I can't imagine a Temperance! So, Constance any time: nice and Mozarty, and a longer pedigree than Temperance - certainly as far as general usage goes.I was at school with a Connie who is Constance Clare; her ln also began with C, as does her married ln.
