I like it - it was the name of a character I liked in a book. I don't associate it with midges/midgies.

It makes me think of annoying insects and also midgets.

I don't love it as much as I like Madge, but I do enjoy it. I don't think of insects at all. I think of Moose's attractive girlfriend from the Archie comics.

I think of the term "midget", actually. *Blush*
I prefer Meg or Maggie.

My face doesn't itch, but I keep hearing the old Dylan song "Forever Young"! Definitely not for anyone over the age of 5.

Midge is a dog name to me (my mother-in-law once had a bulldog named Midge).

It makes me think of midget. In fact, I have often known others to play around with short people and call them things like "peanut", "midge", "shorty", etc.

I really dislike it. Honestly, I don't see anything attractive about this name. With so many lovely nicknames for Margaret (Maggie and Greta are my favorites), why choose Midge?

But after that, it reminds me of a fantasy book (where I first heard about midges [the bugs]), and therefore the bugs. It's not really my cup of tea for a name.
