Midge
What do you think of Midge as a nickname for Margaret?
Does it make you think of tiny, annoying, almost invisible insects?
Just hearing it makes my face feel itchy.

I like it - it was the name of a character I liked in a book. I don't associate it with midges/midgies.
It makes me think of annoying insects and also midgets.

I think of the term "midget", actually. *Blush*
I prefer Meg or Maggie.

My face doesn't itch, but I keep hearing the old Dylan song "Forever Young"! Definitely not for anyone over the age of 5.
Midge is a dog name to me (my mother-in-law once had a bulldog named Midge).
I don't like it as a NN for Margaret; my favorite NN for Margaret is Maggie.

Midge is an unbelievably wonderful and cute name for a bulldog. I feel like pinching Midge's jowls right now.
It was one of my favorite character's from an Agatha Christie novel
so I love it. :-D
A lot.

Ooh - I like her too - one of my favourite Christies.
It makes me think of midget. In fact, I have often known others to play around with short people and call them things like "peanut", "midge", "shorty", etc.
I really dislike it. Honestly, I don't see anything attractive about this name. With so many lovely nicknames for Margaret (Maggie and Greta are my favorites), why choose Midge?
It reminds me of a kitten named Midgie:

But after that, it reminds me of a fantasy book (where I first heard about midges [the bugs]), and therefore the bugs. It's not really my cup of tea for a name.

What a cute kitty. Midgie is a great name for a cat.
