Aw, I can't choose. They're both quite strong names. Constance has a quiet sort of strength, and Temperance is a bit more feisty. Constance is definitely more user-friendly, nn-wise: Con is homely, Connie is bouncy, and I suppose at a push you could also have Stanzi or even Tansy, but Temperance would have to be the full thing, I think. Temp or Tempy sounds like you borrowed her, Tempe reminds me of the vegan bean-curd foodstuff, and Tempera would be a) pointless and b) paint.

I'm fresh out of combo mojo today, but for some reason I'm quite liking Constance Irene. And I had an umpteen-times-great grandmother called Temperance Jane, which is nice enough.
