I prefer Temperance to Constance. Although Constance, of course, started as a Puritan virtue name, it retained popularity a lot longer than most of those names, and now it has a sort of dated mid-twentieth feel to it. Also, I detest the nickname Connie.
Temperance, on the other hand, has a more seventeenth and eighteenth century feel to it, and I love the nickname Tempe.

Yes, Constance, esp. with the inevitable nickname Connie, does feel dated, like faded 1960's yellow-flower wallpaper in a kitchen. I am not sure how I feel about that. I am hovering right on the edge of love/hate.
