WDYT of Wilbur?
It is a name that doesn't get brought up on these boards very often and it has been on my mind lately. I kinda like it- to me it has the warm fuzziness of Theodore but feels rougher than the polished William while still keeping the approachable nn of Wil.

I think of a pig. Pigs are cute, but...

I did too!Wilbur, Clementine, and Hamlet were my pet pigs :)

I like it, but would only use it when pigs fly because there are so many names and not enough opportunities to use them. Just don't name anyone Orville unless someone is a pilot.

Awww. I get the warm fuzzies from it too, and I can imagine a tall handsome Wilbur quite easily.

I think of farms and pigs for some reason. I can't say I really like the name, but I can see where you're coming from with it. It does have the same sort of fuzzy feel as Theodore, which I really like. I think I could probably grow to like this name more, especially if I think of it more in Wilbur & Orville Wright terms.

I just don't like it. It was the name of my favorite stuffed animal as a kid, and it still seems like that to me, a stuffed animal name. I really can't imagine naming a son Wilbur. My son's name is William and he goes by Will. A friend of mine was in the habit of sometimes calling my son Wilbur jokingly. I cringed every time I heard it.

I had an uncle named Wilbur. Despite that, it screams 'pig' to me (thank you, "Charlotte's Web").

I just can't get the image of the pig in Charlotte's Web out of my head i'm afriad

Wilbur & OrvilleThose are the first guys to come to mind. And then I think of Lou Costello as Wilbur Grey in "Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein."Personally, I'd never use Wilbur, but to each his/her own.

I love Wilbur! It's such a friendly, unassuming name.

I think it's cute! Although I, personally, would name a pet or a teddy bear Wilbur. I can kind of imagine a little boy called Wilbur; i agree what you have written.

It's a horrible name. It's also a name on Nip/Tuck.

adorableI don't even mind the pig connection, because the pig was adorable too. I like Wilfred a touch more, I think it is a bit more user-friendly (because it lacks a pig reference). But I do enjoy Wilbur, it is darling.I agree with you 110% about it being fuzzy, polished and approachable. Good call!

It reminds me too much of the pig in Charlotte's Web.

Wilbur is a cute piglet to me. Or it makes me think of the movie 'Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself' (funny movie, but the title ruined Wilbur for me).

I think Wilbur is incredibly nerdy and hickish. I don't like it at all.
