Liliana
I've been thinking about Liliana lately, WDYT? Would you prefer the shortened Liana? Do you think lee-lee-AHN-ah would work in an English-speaking area? Any middle name ideas? Thanks

I think Liliana is all right. It's a little too frilly for me though. I prefer Liliana to just Liana. I'm not sure lee-lee-AHN-ah would work. It might just be me, but I find the pronunciation lil-ee-AHN-ah comes more naturally, with the beginning part sounding like the name Lily. Liliana Celeste

I like Liliana and Liana in different ways. If I had to use one I'd probably use Liana (as in the vine, not the short form of Liliana) because Lily is so popular.
Liliana is good, but I'd always be mispronouncing it as lihl-ee-AH-na.

I immediately lean towards oy vey... another potential Lily running around and I'm really tired of the name... though all things considered, Liliana is the least annoying of the Lily names imo. Liana's ok... not exciting, but ok. What works best as a mn will depend which is chosen as a fn.Renee

Liliana is very pretty. I would not prefer it shortened to Liana, but that would be fine as a nickname. I pronounce the first syllable with a short "i" sound, as in the word "still", and I think most English speakers will automatically say it that way. The long "e" sound, as in "Lee" is not difficult to say instead; it would just be a matter of correcting people until they get used to her name.No idea what your style is, so just throwing out random ideas...Liliana Blythe

To me, it's a little too fussy and I just don't really like the name (or any Lily variant). Not sure why, exactly, but it doesn't really appeal to me. Not really a fan of Liana, either - I prefer Liliana over it.I think it would work in an English-speaking area. You'd only have to hear it once to be able to pronounce it right. It's not too difficult or a far out pronunciation.Hm. Combos:
