Unity

I like it in a GP way. But it absolutely shouts Unity Mitford to me. BUT I am interested in the Mitfords and have a lot of books on them so I am not typical.
I see Mitfords everywhere I look, and not the nicer Mitfords either. And I can imagine a marriage heading for the rocks: they name their daughter Unity in the hopes that she'll work some magic and bring them together, but they divorce acrimoniously before she's 2, leaving her with a lifelong burden of failure and irony.
This actually made me laugh. If I ever meet a Unity with separated parents I'll probably laugh more - I'm terrible.
I'd say it's usable, as people are still using it: apparently 60 people in England & Wales were given the name Unity between 1984 and 2005. Mitford aside, it's got quite a nice sound. Bit word-namey for me, though.
I've never heard of Unity Mitford so it doesn't bring that to mind. I don't really like it as a name, but I think it's usable.
I quite like Unity, but I don't think I'd ever use it except as a middle name. I think it is usable, though.
I don't think a lot of people will think of Unity Mitford
Unless they're British. I only know a little of her myself.
I like the name and I think it's usable. It might get a few raised eyebrows but not many

I almost like it. I think it has some charm. The thing that keeps me from liking it completely is the initial U sound---the rest of it is nice, and it falls in with virtue names such as Verity, which is a favorite of mine. That U sound, though---it's a turnoff. I think it's usable, though.
