Re: Sasha for a boy?
Thing is that there are both masc. and fem versions of Alexander and Alex and Sandy are used on both genders as nns, so Sasha's not THAT unnatural for a girl... no more unnatural than Toni for Antonia which is just a fem form of Antony or Anthony. We have Alexandra, Alejandra and Alessandra. Therefore, if Sandy and Alex can be used as nns for both genders, I see nothing strange about using Sasha the same way. I knew a Fr. Cdn. guy named Sasha and a very pretty teenage girl in my bunkhouse at camp with a rather pleasant disposition named Sasha. It worked on both of them. Don't know if the boy got teased at all for it, but I don't recall the girl having any problems w/ it. It's not like calling a girl Mason or Harvey or Hank that are obviously masc. and don't have a fem. form to them as far as I know.
