WDYTO Anastasia?
Thought I should post just to generate some discussion on names not usually discussed here. I've just been thinking about Anastasia lately, personally I wouldn't use it, but I think it's so stunning and regal. I like Ana or Anya as a nn.
Also, for sibling names, what would you pair it with? I was thinking something similar like Valentina or Isidora.

I love Anastasia pronounced the Slavic way (ah-nah-stah-SEE-yah), but hate the English pronunciation. Anja is my fave nickname for it, but I'd probably just use the whole name.
I was considering it as a honoring for Ana, but Croatian version is Anastazija which I'm not a fan of, so gave it up.
Anastasia and Isadora would be a wonderful sibset:-)

I love Anastasia and briefly considered it for Anna. I finally rejected it because I prefer the Russian pronunciation which I feared people wouldn't use. The basic English one (an-a-STAY-zha) doesn't do much for me and reminds of me 'anesthesia.' Anya is really cute as well.
Having said all that, I'd be much more likely to use it today with the pronunciation I prefer. People can easily learn.
Ooh, Anastasia and Valentina are PERFECT together!

It's very common here and I don't know if I would use it. If I used it I wouldn't shorten it. The most common Greek nns are Natasa & Tasia and I hate them. Anya is an ok name and Ana feels incomplete.
I would pair it with other names I like, I don't care about sibsets as long as they are not too 'out there'.
Valentina is nms and I wouldn't use it. I like Isidora but strongly prefer Isadora.

Inconveniently long, and though Ann or even Anna would do nicely as nns, I would be constantly fearful of Stacy!
People with a religious commitment to the notion of resurrection might like to give it to a second daughter if the first had died: I think that would be ghoulish, but at least then the meaning would have a direct referent.

Love Anastasia... Not so fond of Ana and Anya due to excess use. I would pair it w/ whatever sibs I happened to like names for. Not so concerned about sibsets having to match or anything as long as they're not WAY too close.
Valentina doesn't excite me (nmsaa) and I think Isidora's rather ugly, so I'd never use them w/ or w/out Anastasia.
