Vernice
What do you think of the name Vernice? I hadn't heard of it until recently when I saw it somewhere (in fact it's not in the database).

I hope you don't like it very much, because I think it's horrible. It looks like a misspelling of Venice or a feminine form of Vernon. It also makes me think of the word "vermin".

I've never heard it before. I don't think I like it, in spite of the initial V sound, which I usually like. I assume it rhymes with Bernice, a name I've never cared for. Even if it doesn't, and it's more like VER-niss, I can't get into it.

A varnished Bernice? A dyslexic attempt at an Italian city? Nah.

When I saw it I thought Venice.
When I heard it I thought furnace. But I might be pronouncing it wrong...does it rhyme with furnace or is the ending like "niece"?

The latter pronunciation is right (like Bernice with a "V").

Hmm, still not so good. Like a mispronounced Bernice.

I don't love it. I don't like Bernice, Berenice, or Veronica, which it seems to blend. For some reason it reminds me of a type of invasive plant or maybe a household cleaning agent.

I much prefer Venice (which is what I read Vernice as at first glance). My name book lists it as a form of Verna.

It's sort of a combination between Bernice and Veronica (which is a variant Latin translation of Bernice). To be honest, it's not my style.
