Re: Amos or Asa?

Amos. I heard a woman calling her son Asa the other day and to me, it says "I'm too hip to act excited that I found an obscure Hebrew boy name on the internet that ends in A, because -a on guys is so sexay" I mean, it doesn't give a "classic" impression at all - it sounds just as much a modern and inventive usage to me as Shea or Anakin or Caoimhe. Amos does sound classic, although I share beethoven's Southern porch-sitter image of it.
BTW I don't think Asa is a bad name, I just think that where I live, it is not a classic by any stretch.
