Celebrity BAs
Country singer James Otto and wife Amy welcomed daughter Ava Catherine Otto on August 24. American baseball player CC Sabathia (full name Carsten Charles Sabathia) and wife Amber welcomed son Carter Charles on August 5. He joins older siblings Carsten Charles III (6), Jaeden Arie (girl, 4) and Cyia Cathleen (1,5). Little Jaeden Arie sure stands out from her CC siblings. Dutch footballer Stijn Schaars & Lonneke Rotmans welcomed son Justin on July 29th. British Prime Minister David Cameron and wife Samantha welcomed daughter Florence Rose Endellion on August 24. She joins older siblings Nancy Gwen Beatrice and Arthur Elwen (goes by Elwen). Their severely disabled son Ivan Reginald Ian died last year aged 6.
They like honoring names: Reginald is Samantha’s father, Ian is David’s father, Arthur was David’s great-grandfather (numerous others in both family trees), Samantha’s grandmother was Nancie Muriel Denise Soames, Gwendoline is Samantha’s middle name, Samantha’s half-sister is Flora, St Endellion is a village in Cornwall near where Florence was born. Ghanaian footballer Matthew Amoah welcomed son Elliot on July 19th.

I really like the Cameron kids' names. Ivan and Ian together in a combo seem so bizarre, but I assume they pronounce Ivan EYE-vin and Ian EE-un, so they don't really rhyme. In any case, they make lovely combos with some nice unexpected touches. Endellion and Elwen are especially lovely. I've always loved CC Sabathia's full name, but I think Carter Charles loses a lot of the oomph that Carsten Charles has. Jaeden Arie is cute, even if it's trendy. I'm not sure how to prounce Cyia--that spelling is unappealing.Ava Otto doesn't flow well, but it is neat that both names are palindromes. I wonder if they'll continue the theme if/when they have another baby.

Ava Catherine and Justin - boringLike Charles, dislike Carter. Really, really dislike Cyia Cathleen, and poor little Jaeden is going to feel so left out:(Florence Rose is still boring and Endellion sounds like a character in a fantasy movie. Nancy Gwen Beatrice is sooo much better, I also like Arthur Elwen. Don't understand why they would put Ivan and Ian in the same combo... (In other news, I still really, really dislike David and Samantha Cameron, it's completely their fault I no longer like the name Cameron which used to be a favourite...)I absolutely LOVE Elliot:)

Well, I assume they wanted to call him Ivan, and the middle names were after their fathers. It just so happened that one of them was Ian.

You're probably right, but I would have chosen something else and kept Ian for a possible future son...

Well, considering that he was born sick, I'm thinking they might have wanted to do all their honoring while they could. Maybe they didn't plan to have more kids, or maybe they didn't like the names and just stuck them in there so no one would get offended...
Who knows what people think when they name daughters Elizabeth and Isabella, etc.

I adore Florence and Rose and Endellion.
I'm not too sure I would have used them all in one and the same combo, though as the combination of Florence and Endellion seems a tad overwhelming to me and Rose looks a little "squeezed in" between these two rather "powerful" names - but I can see why they chose them.
So, yes, I like those names ;-)
