Well I wouldn't think of Twilight, I'd think of the city in Scotland. I don't like it, it's just a place name to me.

Way to bring up a new one, Ozma. I've yet to hear this one discussed. I may be the only one living in a Twilight-free-bubble, but it gives me an advantage in these discussions, I think!
Carlisle, Carlisle, Carlisle. I can't really pin a reason on why it's not grabbing me. It seems like the type of simple, yet uncommon name I typically appreciate. In any case, if someone introduced themselves as Carlisle, I'd assume they played tennis and wore their sweaters over their shoulders like Carlton from Fresh Prince of Belair. :o)

I'd be very surprised to come across it on someone from the UK, and I'd wonder if his parents were from Carlisle or had some other association with it. On an American, I'd probably think it was nice to see a city name being used that wasn't London. It's okay - it's quite pleasant-sounding and Carlisle isn't a bad place to have as a namesake.

I like Carlisle, it's like a combo of Carl and Lyle. I'm not into Twilight, so this is just a UK place name to me.

I actually like Carlisle. Yes, it is a Twilight name but that doesn't make it a bad name and since Twilight's Carlisle is "good" and noble and everything, he's not a bad namesake.

Ah, but when I hear Carlisle I don't think of Twilight at all. I think of a British actor named Robert Carlyle. In my mind he's very closely associated with that name.
I quite like the name in theory and I wouldn't mind meeting someone with that name.
