I'm a BIG fan of Barbara! I'm going to name my first daughter Barbara to honor my grandmother. The name was never very popular here and it's not seen as dated as it is in the US. And our pronunciation is softer and I prefer that.

Edna I don't like (I do like Ena), and Gwen is ok as a nickname for Gwendolen/ Gwendolyn, etc.
